BlueStem Beef has its roots deep in the heart of Nebraska rangeland where our family still farms and ranches. The native grasses there help produce some of the best cattle in the world. As BlueStem has expanded beyond our own cattle, we’ve identified producers who share our ideas in beef production. These producers literally hand pick the best of their cattle to go to BlueStem Beef and adhere to strict guidelines when raising BlueStem cattle. We are proud of that, and so are they. Currently, one of our main suppliers is a third generation farmer/rancher. He’s developed the genetics of his quality herd of Black Angus cattle to produce lean yet tender beef. These cattle are raised on luscious native grass, fed a pure, all-vegetable ration and spend only about 90 days in the feedlot – all without the use of antibiotics or growth hormones.
