Harold Hanni founder of PS Seasoning & Spices and Pro Smoker N Roaster was born on September 14th, 1931. Harolds family was made up of Cheese and Sausage Makers. Growing up Harold learned everything he knows about cheese and sausage making from his father Gottfried Hanni. After the time spent serving his country during the Korean War, Harold spent his spare time making sausage with his homemade smoker (made up from an old chest freezer) teaching his 5 sons the family tradition. One cold Wisconsin winter day in 1976 the chest freezer/smoker Harold built caught fire and nearly burnt the house down, this was when Harold realized there had to be a better way. After several drafts of designing the first smoker he finally knew what he wanted, a Model 100 smoker, made by a sausage maker for the sausage maker. In 1982 Harold and his sons began building smokers for people and in 1984 incorporated his business with his son Ken Hanni and Kens wife Kate Hanni. Harold, Ken, and Kate have seen many changes through the years with expanding the business and its locations in the ever-changing industry. Today we offer a full line of sausage making equipment, Smoker/Ovens, a full line of Seasonings and Spices, and every type of packaging available. To-date we have over 71,000 customers worldwide and are still growing. Ken and Kates son, Joe Hanni, is also an addition to the business and they are now proud to say they are a Third Generation Family owned and operated company. Harold, now retired from the business, decided a couple of years ago to start-up his own sausage making company H & H Meats, which offers a full line of Smoked Meats retail and wholesale, working everyday with the occasional trip up to the northwoods.
