Just a few short years ago Boston radio personality Sue Cope never would have imagined her life would one day be filled with decadent gourmet treats and fresh flowers. Three cake flavors - from left: Mon Gateau au Chocolat, French Vanilla, Lemon-Lavender-and-Poppy SeedIn the winter of 2004 Sue started researching different ideas for starting her own business. Shocked to find that premiere florists in Boston were charging $100 to $150 for a bouquet of flowers, Sues goal was to give the customer more for their money. Drawing from her daughter Elises adventurous spirit to try new things, combined with her husbands French ancestry, Sue began to study European recipes and what makes them so special. By Spring 05, she was certain she had come up with the perfect plan. Sue explains For the same amount (or less) that florists are charging for a simple bouquet of flowers, with Sweet Elise you can give a decadent cake-packaged in a handmade hatbox, a set of dessert plates or a beautiful cake pedestal and you still get a bouquet of flowers!
