Celebrating 25 years of serving people with specialty dietary needs. The Specialty Food Shop was established in 1982. Its mission was to help children and adults live well with a variety of special dietary needs. Twenty-five years later, the Specialty Food Shop, located in The Hospital for Sick Children, is still providing people of all ages with products and services to help maintain their health. The Specialty Food Shop is celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2007. As we look forward, we are continually aiming to enhance and expand our business to serve our clients better. Our website offers online shopping for over 400 specialty foods, up-to-date nutrition articles, information for health professionals, recipes, reliable links to nutrition and health-related sites and an Ask A Dietitian feature. The Specialty Food Shop prides itself on being a source of reliable nutrition information. The shop has registered dietitians on staff who respond to customer inquiries via e-mail, in-store and by phone. The shop also employs nutrition associates who have nutrition education, a diet technician who dispenses products from Ministry of Health programs and an assistant manager with a degree in food and nutrition.
