We make the finest homemade fig preserves from the figs we grow here on the farm. Our recipe gives you delicious sweet fig preserves just like your grandmother used to make. We use whole figs and pure cane sugar with no preservatives for our product. We do not puree or chop the figs in the process. Our preserves are great over toast, biscuits or waffles for breakfast. They are also a great dessert topping for ice cream or cake. Fig preserves make great gifts that show you have taken time to select a unique gift. We grow several different varieties of figs including Brown Turkey, Celeste, Texas Ever bearing, LSU Gold, LSU Purple, Kadota, Ische, Alma, Black Jack, Petite Negronne, LSU Hollier, Black Mission, Strawberry and several unnamed varieties. We make fig preserves with the figs of standard varieties in season and make limited quantities of preserves of some of the other varieties as fruit production permits.
