We are often asked about the name Sister Fields. Is it your last name? Are you sisters? Are you, perhaps, nuns? No, we are not nuns, not even sisters. We are two friends living in the beautiful Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon. Together, with each others sisters, we combined the words sister and fields (as in mother earth) and Sister Fields was born. We have always been good cooks, and one of us is a chef. When we came to Oregon in 1990 we noticed we were surrounded by fruit orchards. Let there be jam! It all started with the first batch of dark cherry jam, and weve been jamming ever since. This led us on to fruit butters, fruit vinegars, marmalades, and chutneys, too. However, our real specialty is the quality of our products. We make everything by hand in small batches just the way grandma used to do. We even stirred in the love. Our fruit vinegars are infused with real whole fruits. Our balsamic vinegars, Raspberry Balsamic and Marion berry Balsamic, are a blend of our whole fruit vinegars married to balsamic vinegar from Modena, Italy that has been aged four years. Our popular Tomato Chutney is a French recipe from Provence (not to be confused with Indian chutney). Our recipe contains no curry. Sister Fields Old Fashioned Bar-B-Q Sauce is not too hot, not too mild, but a perfect blend for traditional palates. Everybodys favorite. Pasta Toss is the answer to quick, easy, gourmet meals whether cooking for one, a crowd, or using leftovers. This medley of sundried tomato bits, herbs and spices is a winner. Sister Fields Hot n Spicy are not just another rub. This blend may also be used to spice up chili, jambalaya, or a spicy southwest dip. Pasta Pesto makes fresh pesto instantly. This may be used as a spread for bruschetta or a sauce for pasta. Shrimp Scampi is the Italian favorite, and an easy way to make a gourmet shrimp sauté. This blend is excellent with any seafood or chicken. The delightful blends of herbs and spices come packaged in a gift crate with recipes included.
